Odds of them getting their stadium built before DC United does?

Any other tenants at RFK?

Move DC United to BMore, stick them in a gorgeous water-front stadium in Canton, call it a day.

They'll get the Hunter's Point stadium in DC built before Baltimore gets one finished in Canton or Westport or anywhere, unfortunately.

Reading that article, I'm getting a real "Chivas USA" vibe. And while I don't follow MLS as closely as others, I do know that's not a good feeling to have.

You lost me here.

Chivas USA is the second team in LA. They're owned by Club Deportivo Guadalajara, or Chivas, one of the big Mexican soccer clubs. They were created in a similar fashion, as a partnership/feeder club for the main club, but they have been generally ignored by Chivas and aren't doing very well. They have finished eighth or worse for three straight seasons and only won their division once.

Unless the Yankees partnership helps with keeping some attention from Man City on the new club, I can see this going the same way.

^ DCU is terrible this year. Their one win on the year was 3 months ago and now they've going 11 matches since. And, they've only scored 6, yes S-I-X goals all year. Just yesterday New England scored F-I-V-E goals in one game. DCU has got a bunch of terrible, overpaid, underachieving players, their stadium situation is still nonsense, the new owners (and Chang) seemingly appear indifferent to all of it, and even some of the diehards are becoming apathetic. It's sad b/c you'd have to think Benny is on the hotseat and I still can't fathom how Dave Kasper has a job. He and his staff/FO guys can't scout for anything, make terrible decisions when it comes to doling out money/payroll, etc., etc.

Honestly, yesterday I was flipping around the tv after the O's game and was like "Oh yeah, DCU comes on soon." That was immediately followed with a "Eeeeeeh, I think I'll watch other baseball or Roseanne instead of that nonsense."

Later on in the day some sports station had their ticker running at the bottom of the screen and I saw MLS scores were coming up and I said, "How much did we lose by today" before seeing the scroll show a 2-0 loss to Chicago. They didn't even muster 1 shot on goal. 90 minutes, no shots. Really? I mean, honestly, when I saw the scroll I didn't even wonder "Hey did we tie or win?" My first thought was wondering just by how much we lost.

It's a sad state of affairs for what should be one of the flagship franchises for MLS, especially coming off last years run.

The wife and I are huge DCU fans, and always make sure to catch 'em when they come out West to play Chivas or LA, or even sometimes San Jose or Portland. And this year we're actually debating whether or not to go when they come out to play Chivas because who wants to watch a DCU/Chivas match this year? Seriously, 2 of the worst teams in the league are gonna draw like 50 attendees.

It's just sad.

So, DC traded 2 draft-picks for a 30 year old defender, making 6-figures, who'll take up their last "foreign player" spot.  Great............

I get needing to shore up the defense, but trading picks (when we should be doing practicially everything to keep and acquire more picks) for another 6-figure defender?  Again, how does Dave Kasper have a job?

Good luck to the boys against New England today.

United earned a point (Gasp, I know.  Shocking!) with a 0-0 draw at New England.  This time they were able to muster 1 total shot on goal.  They really had no attack, at all and if it wasn't for Hamid they would've lost (what else is new?)

Seriously, Hamid has been the lone, saving-grace on this team this season.

I'm just angry that after early success (from a club history standpoint), D.C. United has been mired in irrelevancy, save a semi-inspired spurt in the mid-late 2000s. Force of habit in Washington, I guess. I'll be the first to admit I've gotten fairly apathetic, preferring to watch the Euro leagues and other sports in the Baltimore-D.C. region.

CSN Washington: United strikes new stadium deal with DC

http://www.csnwashin...stadium-deal-dc

D.C. United and Mayor Vincent Gray have reached a $300 million deal to construct a 20,000 seat stadium on Buzzard Point, near Nationals Park in Southwest D.C.

My guess is RFK's days are finally numbered. Probably the future site of a new Redskins stadium about a decade or so from now.
