Ironically they're doing it with defense.
They brought in Lombardi to fix Stafford but he's his mediocre self again. Losing CJ didn't help but Stafford is what he is. The defense got good. Caldwell probably didn't have much to do with that.
And there's still a lot of games to be played...and Detroit is known to collapse.
But good for them.

ESPN: Lions fire OC Joe Lombardi, promote Jim Bob Cooter
The Detroit Lions fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and offensive line coaches Jeremiah Washburn and Terry Heffernan hours before the team was scheduled to leave for London.
"It's not a good day," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. "It's a tough day."
The Lions promoted 31-year-old quarterbacks coach Jim Bob Cooter to offensive coordinator. Cooter will call plays, and he anticipates there will be some scheme changes.
Dude has the best name ever.

Jim Bob Cooter, sounds like the old baseball nicknames.
