Nice to see Jair pitching well at AAA. I'll be very interested to see what he can do once he inevitably is called upon at the Major League level.

Went 8 innings in his last outing, still too many fly's. Probably on the verge of coming up per the next opportunity.

I am excited to see him pitch on Saturday. I have more faith in him than Britton, Arrieta, Stinson, etc.

That's an interesting thought. I guess I have more faith in Jair than Britton, Arrieta, Stinson, etc. But that's not saying much. For example, I have less faith in Jair than in, say, Carlos Zambrano who the Phillies just signed.

I wouldn't have minded if they signed Zambrano. I guess Buck didn't want to have a personality like that though.

We should be able to see fairly early if he is fully healthy, with no issues with the knee. Does he have his movement back? All-Star appearances only mean so much, but he's only 2 years removed from an AS appearance.
I don't think anyone expects the guy that was outstanding in the 1st half of 2011, but if he has his control, and has some movement... he could be a serviceable starter.
Seeing where he is will be interesting either way. I like that he was able to get his feet wet this year with those 51 innings at AAA.

I didn't watch the game on Saturday but I listened to it and it sounded like he did pretty good other than the one bad inning.

Regardless if he stays with the organization or not I still think it was a good signing. He was worth taking a shot on a minor league deal.
