As was discussed in other thread, I think the contract was reasonable. I like the deal quite a bit actually, with the knowledge he has options remaining.
Speaking with people, and looking back at previous comments/reviews on Jurrjens; there seems to be a lot of confidence in his 'pitchability along with his control and command.'
Your work here confirms the issues I have been told about, that his stuff was ordinary last year, with his change-up too close to his FB.
I think the most interesting and telling story with Jurrjens will be when he gets to ST, and we see where he his health wise after several outings.

It was reported back in late January that the Orioles had agreed to sign former Braves pitcher Jair Jurrjens to a one-year deal. That agreement has now been put on hold with the Baltimore Orioles worrying about the health of Jurrjens’ knee. His knee received an MRI back in September 2011 which revealed a bone bruise. He also had spent two months on the disabled list back in 2011 because of a knee strain, a knee in which had been operated on because of a torn meniscus prior. Jurrjens had started to complain of knee soreness in the second half of 2011, after the All-Star break. In seven starts during post-All-Star break, he went 1-3 with a 5.88 earned run average.

Been obvious that the knee is the hold up and thought that maybe we could work this into a non guaranteed deal but if he makes the team, he gets the contract we are prepared to give him.

Note: Executive vice president Dan Duquette, calling into "The Mid-Atlantic Sports Report" on MASN, said he hoped to have pitcher Jair Jurrjens signed today. It didn't happen.
Duquette remains hopeful that the Orioles soon will be able to make the announcement.
"We're still working on that to try and get that resolved," he said. "We were hoping to have that resolved by today but we didn't come to a resolution. We are still working on it, hopefully we can get something done here soon."
Jurrjens agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million contract three weeks ago that includes a possible $2.5 million in incentives. Jurrjens took his physical, but an announcement has been delayed because of concerns over his right knee.

There goes our big FA signing. I hope he does well. If his knee is able to stand up, he has upside.

And to think we all spent weeks discussing his major league deal and salary.

Well, you could still not want him in camp at all...not wanting him to take innings away from any of the young guys isn't an unreasonable thing to want.It is essentially impossible to complain about this signing now.

Yep, it really takes any risk away from the Orioles. Start him in AAA, if he does well, there will be chances for him to help and if not then it was nice knowing him.NOW, it's a good deal.
The Orioles have done a remarkable job keeping that payroll at last years level.
