Shaq Buys Minority Stake in Kings
LOL! The only thing more ironic would be if Phil Jackson bought a piece of the Quee....errr, Kings.

Take it Shaq is keeping his job at TNT? I didn't see anything in the article to the contrary.

It's something they had to do, and even for max money it's another positive development for the franchise that they will keep him around. That said, it's certainly a high-risk, high-reward proposition with him. No doubt Cousins has the talent to be among the elite 5s in the league. He also has the temperament to be a major headache. I'm sure adding Shaq to the new ownership group went beyond just having his name to help market the franchise.

I know they've caught some flack for the handling of the coaching situation, but personally I love the move. I actually think Karl is underrated. I think he tended to get the most out of his teams, particularly those Nuggets teams. A lot of first round losses, yes, but those teams were basically middle of the playoff pack in a competitive Western Conference, so I don't really think much of it.
Basically, you can do a hell of a lot worse than building around Karl and Cousins. Although the West is insane right now, so who knows if it will be enough.

If the Lakers are willing to put Okafor and Randle on the table for Cousins, the Kings have to make that trade. You put those 2 with whoever you pick with the 6th pick(Winslow?) plus your remaining team and you really start to build something.
Lots of talk that Okafor shouldn't even be the #2 pick, but yeah, that's an appealing offer. If I were the Kings, I'd go another direction than Okafor, though.

Well that's fine. Whoever you want there plus Randle should be enough.
Btw...I don't think that Lakers should make that deal.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

It will likely cost us Randle and the 2. Steep price to pay.
Maybe it would. Maybe the #2, #27, and Clarkson. Either way, I would strongly consider the deal you mention. Perhaps they could get a little something extra back too.
Then again, I haven't paid attention enough to the draft/college ball to have a strong opinion on giving up the pick and Randle.

Actually forget all that.
Draft pickz.
