Coming down the stretch here and Towson has extended to a 75-66 lead with 1:42 remaining. Brian Fobbs leads Towson with a career best 22 points. TJ Howard and Nakye Sanders have 14 points each for the Tigers.

Friday night will be the 19th all-time meeting between Towson and reigning regular season America East champ Vermont. SECU Arena at 7 p.m. will be the place to be to support the Tigers in this quality non-conference tilt. This will be the first meeting since Dec. 5, 2012.

SECU is a good place to watch a game. I live close and try to get to 3 or 4 a year.  Towson and Vt. might be a good one.

Towson returns its top three scorers (Brian Fobbs – 17.5 ppg., Tobias Howard – 10.2 ppg. & Nakye Sanders – 8.3 ppg.) & top three rebounders (Dennis Tunstall – 7.7 rpg., Brian Fobbs – 5.9 rpg., & Nakye Sanders – 5.5 rpg.) from last season. Fobbs (Second Team) & Tunstall (All-Defensive Team) earned All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) honors last season.
 
 In addition to Fobbs, Tunstall, Sanders and Howard, returnees include sophomores Allen Betrand, Jakigh Dottin, Solomon Uyaelunmo, Chris Caligurian and redshirt freshman Nicolas Timberlake. Betrand, Dottin, Uyaelunmo and Timberlake all started at least three games and played at least 10 minutes per outing.
 
Also, joining the team this season will be redshirt junior Juwan Gray, who sat out last season after transferring from San Diego. Many of the returning players had at least one double-digit scoring game last season.

Towson Predicted 6th in the CAA

• In one of the closest preseason votes in CAA history, five teams – Hofstra, Charleston, Northeastern, James Madison and Delaware – earned first-place votes in the poll.

 

• The Pride finished atop the poll with 331 points and 14 first-place votes. Charleston was just eight points behind Hofstra, receiving 18 first-place votes and 323 points.

 

• Northeastern earned four first-place votes and 291 points, while James Madison collected three first-place tallies, finishing with 253 points in fourth. Delaware collected the remaining two first-place votes in finishing fifth with 241 points. Towson was selected sixth, followed by William & Mary, Drexel, UNCW and Elon.

 

• The 2020 CAA Men's Basketball Championship will run March 7-10 at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.

So for a class project my group came up with the idea of bringing Arizona State’s “curtain of distraction” to Towson for the home opener. Except we made a box look like a “tiger cage” to distract free throw shooters.

Women’s game against Penn State they shot 5/8 away from us.....22/26 facing us. Lol

So much for that. They were actually 22/24, then missed two in a row with like 5 seconds left, so we got free wings at glory days!!!

Completely surprised. The marketing department brought out at the under 12 minute TO, an actual “curtain of distraction” decorated with foliage to look like a jungle. We’ll see if it catches on.

The men beat GW 72-58. Towson is 161 in KenPom, GW 212.

2-1 so far.  Beat George Washington, and Bryn Athyn (Bryn Athyn's site says it was an Exhibition, Towson's site is including it on their regular season schedule).  

They lost to Kent State 84-80. 

They face #15 Florida Thursday night on ESPN2.

Towson almost pulled the upset, but falls 66-60 to Florida. Was 30-30 at the half, and 60-60 with two minutes left.
