That Kareem Hunt incident happened in February. FEBRUARY. If you have any further doubt about the NFL's hollow words when it comes to domestic violence...

Watching the video, how do you think the NFL should respond?

Indefinite suspension to be re-visited after the season. I'm not sure what mitigating circumstances there possibly could be that make it not as bad as it looks, but assuming there are none, then he should be suspended all of next year at a minimum.

What will be interesting to see here is if Hunt ever plays again.
Ray Rice’s career ended because of a video BUT he was also almost done as a productive player. In this case, you have one of the best players in football.

I started a reply along the lines of "even the NFL couldn't be as stupid as to..." and then I stopped and started over. It'd be astoundingly stupid for the NFL to not immediately suspend him now that this video is out (same for the Chiefs for that matter), but I found out that I can imagine the NFL being exactly that stupid.

Why does the NFL have to get involved?
I mean, I get that he’s employed by one of their teams BUT this should be on the team.
If KC doesn’t suspend him, they should lose draft picks and then the NFL should step in.
You don’t just punish the player...you punish the team for not handling it. You want to be strict about this? Good. That strictness should be across the board.
And btw, if it is known that Andy Reid and others knew that the incident was this severe, he should also be fired and not allowed to coach in the league again and anyone else involved should also receive the same fate.

Apparently, one of the guys claims the woman called him the N word. If that’s true and that is what escalated the incident, it will be interesting to see what the social response is.

There is also body cam footage of police interviews with people involved.

I'd say that would be wrongness on both sides. If true that's reprehensible by her. Followed up by reprehensible behavior by Hunt. It may explain his actions but it doesn't justify them. The NFL can't suspend this lady because she doesn't work for them but they can suspend Hunt, and should, even if he was antagonized in the worst way prior to the video.
