I still think the move to the Big East is what kept him around for his senior year.

Quite a few variables with him and no doubt, that's another thing that could motivate him to stay.

ESPN: Andre Roberson entering NBA draft

http://espn.go.com/n...ering-nba-draft

This is one of the tougher decisions to me. It was either a win-win or lose-lose depending on how you look at it.

On the surface, it doesn't seem like he should go as it's very unlikely, he'd be a first round pick. He might not even be a second round pick.

So why should he go? For one thing, he failed to improve his offensive game(some would say he regressed) this year. Also with the preseason hype, I think his production might go down as it did this year with a more talented roster and it's supposed to be even better next year. Another year, will only leave him more exposed. After all, the NBA frowns on four year players it seems increasingly (so much for the "stay in school" motto) with the whole potential versus production and valuing youth (if you are between two players, everything being equal, you'll go with the younger player.

Why should he have stayed? It's supposed to be the best year in modern Colorado basketball history -- the last 50 years or so. He's already a big part of the CU basketball history -- he wouldn't get to Chauncey status but he could increase his legend. And who knows with a good tourney run, maybe his stock increases.

He had a press conference scheduled for Friday and it was cancelled. At that point, I thought he was leaning towards staying. I'm not that surprised he left; I thought when the presser was cancelled, there was a slightly better chance that he would come back than leaving but was probably looking for a reason to leave.

I think he made the best decision for himself. I can't really disagree with it. Either way, carried its risks or rewards. He could end up in Europe or the D-League, that could've a year from now. He can always comeback and finish his degree. Obviously this decision, doesn't help the team next year. But I don't think it hurts us that much.

Wow. Wiz with the #3 pick? Hopefully Ernie doesn't bungle it.

Lemme get two claps and a Ric Flair

It's a very weak draft, but the Wiz should at least get a guy who can contribute right away.

Oh I'm sure he will. He can trade the pick for another expiring contract.

How did the Wizards get the #3 pick anyway? I was watching the lottery, and once I saw Detroit pick #8, they said that the Wizards were a lock to get a top 3 pick.  Didn't understand how that happened.

On twitter, Wilbon suggested a trade based around the #3 pick to SAC for Cousins.

Otto Porter would be such an amazing fit with the Baby Wiz.  Plus the DC ties.  Leave it to Ernie to botch it.

Not sure if I'd like the idea of a bad egg in Cousins coming to DC with a young team.  Although reuniting with Wall would be interesting and you can't deny his talent.

I saw today that Mike Wise wrote a whole mess of a column about how the Wiz should trade their pick because "the Wizards don’t have years. They have next season. Postseason or bust. That’s it."

Maybe Ernie Grunfeld has just next season, but the team itself doesn't.

I would love to see Len go to the Blazers.  If I had to pick a favorite NBA team it probably would be Portland, so naturally I'd be ecstatic to see a big MD alum end up there.

I saw on Yahoo yesterday they had a mockdraft from some place called DraftExpress.com and they had:

Wiz taking Anthony Bennett from UNLV @ 3

Otto Porter going to Phoenix @ 5

Alex Len going to the Pelicans @ 6

I don't think there will be one perennial All Srar in this draft class.

Except Reggie Bullock, of course.

Someone will probably surprise us.

Len is certainly an interesting prospect. He has strong potential but he may never become more than a bench guy.

BTW, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Curry will be a good pro.

Bennett is supposed to have the highest upside. It's also a position of need for the Wiz whether it's ultimately at the 3 or 4. In a draft so weak, go ahead and give me the player with the most upside. He's also not going to be a complete bust either. Even if he doesn't hit his upside he'll be a good role player. But the Wiz wont take him because they won;t be able to wrk him out.

I'm not huge on Porter. Gonna be a solid NBA player but meh. Len shouldn't even be in the discussion for #3. I still wouldn't completely rule out Mclemore should he be there at #3. Yeah, you have Beal already but you can never have enough extremely athletic shooters.

BTW....lets not lock Noel into #1 just yet.

Blazers already have a project-type at center, although as of today Len is probably more polished coming out of college than Leonard is after a season in the league. Still, don't see it it happening. Word is Olshey loves Oladipo, but I don't think he falls to 10th. I'm intrigued by Caldwell-Pope at that spot.
