What would you trade for Alcantara?

What's the trade you think Miami would accept?

Start with Mayo and go from there.

Agreed. It will cost more once he does, but I’m not trading for 2023 Sand Man.

Him regressing in '23 is part of the equation.
Him missing '24 is part of the equation.

His remaining contract is part of the equation.

I think Miami probably wants him to show he's healthy and building back value before they unload.

I'm just not scared. He's hitting 100 in ST already and he's not even 30. His "bad season" was still not that bad and almost certainly the result of fatigue/wear from the previous year.

He's good to go. If they'll listen, get him before the price goes up.

Agreed and if they were to trade him now it would be because they really like the deal.

I think one key prospect (Mayo) and 2 lesser ones.  He is not the CY Young Version of the Sand Man at this point.  I am concerned about trading with Miami.  They have picked Elias's pocket a couple of times.

Would have traded Norby, Stowers and one more of the higher prospects for him last year and waited for him to be ready this year.

Alcantara’s only 29, which makes him too young to pitch for the Orioles.

Also signed for 2026 and an option for 27. That's quite a commitment for this team.

I'm just willing to take the risk. The dude is good and his arm seems fine. You're not getting possible ace production for cheaper than he is right now.

Do it. Get Alcantara to Baltimore.

I'm on board with an Alcantara trade. Mayo, Basallo or Kjerstad should be a good enough top piece that you don't have to add in a major second piece, maybe a couple guys in the teens ranking range. Despite the third year option, I don't think he has the same value Crochet did given the salary and returning from the injury.

I'd be very surprised if the Marlins wanted to deal right now, I think they'll wanna see a strong first half which should increase his value. But they made early season trades last year so who knows.

I’m not trading Basallo for almost anyone right now, but fine with one of the other 2.

I'm hanging onto Basallo. Willing to deal anyone else, though.

Yeah he feels untouchable to me right now. Anybody else including MLB is available except maybe Adley and Gunnar.
