I agree but he's always behind the play. A more aware player would have followed the ball and at least faked going to third. The game is too fast for him right now.
The middle infielder made a good play by holding a tag on Holliday. Also, the impact of the slide had Holliday's helmet over his eyes. Defender made a good play and Holliday did the right thing by holding at second.

I don't even think what I'm saying is a true criticism of him. It's just an observation because he's 20 years old. When the game slows down for him we might see a completely different player.

I didn't take it as criticism of him.
I was pointing out why he made the right play.
I disagree with you that the game was "too fast" for him in that moment.
He did the right and smart thing by staying on the bag.

Slater serves a purpose but overexposed lately. Need Kjerstad back, especially would've been useful here in Boston where LF defense isn't challenging.

Should've let Cano pitch some more, IMO. Faced one batter, two pitches. Now Dominguez won't be available for 10th (if we get there).
