Today is a prime example on why they won't go on any extended winning streak. The offense is just too erratic and the bullpen is russian roulette every time Hyde goes to it. Just try to win series, which they did.

With Kremer, Rogers and SuĂ¡rez rounding out the rotation for the foreseeable future, they have to capitalize in the games where one of them turns in a decent start, because more often than not they aren’t going to give you one. They cannot afford to piss away games like this.

We're still 70-49. 21 games over. Tied for first.

Reeeeelax. It's one game.

You keep saying this but the team has been average to below average for a large chunk of the season now

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Yeah we've been saying it's just one game for two months now.

21-24 since 6/20. That’s more than just a slump.

Losing record for better part of 2 months.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

What's the rest of the AL in that time? NY has been worse than us. Boston is struggling. Cleveland just had a 7 game losing streak. Seattle and Houston are barely treading water.

There are no great teams this year.

That is the only saving Grace. But I have lost faith in Hyde to manage in the postseason. He has no feel for the game.

Burnes, Rodriguez (if he's healthy), and Eflin will give us a chance in a short series against anyone.

The offense is feast or famine. Just gotta hope they show up.

I'm over this loss already.

Please put Akin in the higher leverage spots over Perez.

Here's hoping Columbe somehow makes it back this season. The Orioles have been unable to replace him.

There's no guarantee Rodriguez will even be a part of the equation, and the bullpen will remain as is.  So, it more or less comes down to which offense shows up on any given day.  That won't change during the play-offs.  It's not a comforting thought but as you mentioned, there aren't any dominant teams this year so everyone can be taken out.

I hate that I have to be the positive one. Usually I'm the sky is falling guy.

Despite today's crushing, devastating loss.... we're still tied for the best record in baseball.

There is that possibility but I'll hold out some hope that he does.

Kimbrel will probably regain his form, and run off a string of lock down saves. But who among us will be less than fidgety every time he takes the mound?

Good news! I saw a dog today.

I feel that way with every single pitcher in that bullpen.

I'm glad that Kimbrel option is a team option. Maybe they'll hit the FA reliever market, and give him his $1M walking bonus.

Good news! I saw a dog today.

Are the announcers still referring to Kimbrel as a future Hall of Famer every 5 minutes?

That’s on Hyde. He has no feel for the game.

What I don't get is why Hyde thought Perez v Caballero or Perez v Carlson represented a better matchup than Suarez v Rortvedt.

If you think Perez is a better option once Cash pulls the trigger on a PH, then fine. But that didn't happen.

I'm trying to see the logic to it. If Hyde didn't want Suarez to face the Rays lineup a third time through, he shouldn't have come out to start the 7th at all.

Curious.

What a shame we wasted that performance by Suarez. Just like we wasted his emergency start in Tor. Big props to him the last 2 times out
