Offense has had one or two good games really in the last 3 weeks. They had the 11 run outburst VS Texas and scored 8 in a loss against Cleveland.
7, 17, 11, 8, 11, 6, 8 and 6 all in the last three weeks you're citing. Last two weeks since the two games you call out have been weaker, just 4 runs a game.

That's the equivalent of garbage time TDs.
The 11 run outburst VS Texas was nice. 4 of the 6 runs in the other Texas game came on one swing by Kjerstad.

This towel is a little disappointing. I remember better quality.
This game has matched the beach towel. I remember better quality.

They've been struggling since NY offensively. They scored 11 against Houston, but that was after they were already trailing 14-3. And they managed to score 8 in a game they were trailing 17-1.

Can you come up with any more reasons to not count the runs they scored? It's baseball, they all count. So do all the ones we give up.
The record over this stretch has been fine, perhaps better than that depending if you are counting before or after the 5-game skid. The runs scored is a concern, but not a big one for me, still the best offense in the league and zero reason to be concerned they won't continue to be a very good offense. We're loaded top to bottom. Doesn't mean bad skids won't occur, but it does mean they won't sustain.
The thing that bothers me is the few absolutely non-competitive games. That didn't happen much at all until recently, but we've had whatever tonight ends up as, -11 on Sunday, -9 the week prior, -7 a week before that. Those are the 3 and possibly 4 of the biggest losses of the season (also a 7-run loss in mid-May and a 10-run loss in mid-April) all in a 15-game span.
When you're good, most of the losses are still close. It's frustrating, but it means you're really good. That hasn't been the case recently, and I think it's largely due to the weakness at the back of the rotation and in the bullpen. Those problems can be fixed, but gonna take some effort to do so. Don't have to pony up for Crochet or Miller, but do need to make some middle tier moves. I'd really strongly consider 2 SP and 2 RP. Gonna hurt the depth a lot, but think we can do it and still avoid dealing any of the studs.

If I did the math right we are -26 in run diff since the last Ynakees game. Our record 8-9. I remember we discussed earlier this year how our record in 1 run games was quite bad but that has almost evened out at .500 as now it is 10-11. Def not playing our best ball of late. Kind of a reverse situation of the first few months where we were blowing teams out a good bit but weren't winning the close ones well the last few weeks we have been blown out numerous times but have a 6-2 record in 1 or 2 run games.. The record could def be worse over this timeframe. Feel fortunate to be right around .500 . Definitely have work to do at the back of the rotation and BP.
