Ugh another night with McCann in the lineup. Perfect game for Mayo to DH.

Still blows my mind they can't find a back-up catcher who can hit better than McCann.

Good job starting McCann last night. Two nights in a row. Just awesome. It does make me wonder if Adley is dealing with a fatigued arm though. Thats the only thing that makes sense for Adley not starting behind the plate last night if you know McCann is gonna start vs the lefty. Coulda had the better defender in LF in Cowser and still got Kjersted his ABs

Yup. And normally I wouldn't care except that in wanting to keep Adley fresh they DH him a lot meaning McCann is going to catch fairly often. Most teams would not be catching McCann two games in a row like the O's are between last night and tonight.

Hydes lineups just make so little sense in general. Hes not giving anyone a real chance to settle in. Mullins started vs Valdez on Sun. Cowser gets the start tonight vs Allen. Cowser didnt start last night. Kjersted had 2 hits last night but sits tonight. Westburg at 2nd last night and Urias at 3b. Now jerk Westy back to 3b tonight. I get its a long tough stretch right now but make it make sense where it needs to make sense.

Elias needs to make some trades. It’s painfully obvious. But he’s so in love with these prospects he’s gun shy. Ortiz playing well isn’t helping
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Yea but then we get guys glued to the bench and people complaining about certain guys not getting any PT

Yeah maybe we should just teleport to 2026 then there's room for the young guys. In the meantime lets keep guys like Mayo and Norby and Kjerstad in AAA until they have shown enough consistency to give them a real shot at ML playing time. I am guessing what 1500 to 2000 AAA at bats? LOL

Kjerstad smoked two balls last night and had a very good late inning AB that he just got under. Let's put him back on the bench for Hays.
I think Hays versus a LHP is a better offensive option and he's obviously a better defensive option. Kjerstad's splits aren't ridiculous (well, they are this year, but his LHP numbers are still solid and last year he was very even), but Hays has crushed lefties this year and strong career numbers. This is the right choice, IMO.
