How want sub 2 ERA guys have we face already? Seems like more than a handful.

They seem to find a way to scratch out wins against these tough LH starters, but also find a way to produce next to nothing against the guys you think they’d be able to score a lot on….case in point, Luis Gil and Ross Stripling the previous week.

Another tough LHP. Another day for our guys to find a way to grind it out.

Makes you realize just how many hitters are overmatched in the game today. Look at the box scores. Tons of guys below the Mendoza line. Every team, no matter how bad they are, have pitchers who can dominate. It's just a question on who's lineup is more pathetic than the other.

Until the almost-inevitable UCL tear.

I would rather have taken a look at O'Hearn against a lefty than Santander who has just been putrid. Or even leave Mullins in there and have McKenna in right. Better overall outfield defense.

Today would be the day to play Tony.

Santander has a .905 OPS VS LHP this year compared to .553 VS RHP.
Today would be the day to play Tony.
I get that. But in his last 7 games he is 2 for 22 with 1 BB, 1 RBI, and 5 Ks. I guess he won't break out if he sitting on the bench but dang he's been painful to watch.

Tony has a history of being extremely hot or extremely cold. Have to think he'll break through eventually- and when he's hot his bat can almost carry a team on its own. He and Mullins worry me, though. Both have been struggling horribly for weeks now.
Some of the pitches Mullins and Santander swing at are almost comical. You could probably roll the ball up to the plate and they'd swing. They definitely don't do themselves any favors.

Why doesn't Hyde tell them to throw more strikes.

I've noticed him shaking out his pitching hand a few times the past couple of starts.

Kremer’s throwing hand seems to be bothering him a bit. Didn’t anyone catch that after the k of Elly there?
He did grimace a bit.
Now that you mention it.
