Someone will likely get hurt or perform poorly enough for at least one of Cowser or Kjerstad to get legit run. But until then it's not ideal imo.

As for Holliday and Mayo, I can't imagine them bringing up the former without a ton of expected playing time, but Mayo is more interesting and challenging, at least if Holliday is also up. It's not hard to carve out some time vs lefties, but otherwise it's a question of where do they want him to play and who are they good with taking time away from. If I were Jordan Westburg, I might be a bit pressed to get off to a good start.

Holliday will surely play every day once up, he will get the Gunnar/Adley treatment, and he should. I'm not sure if Mayo will get that too, I think this year at least will be tough. I'm going to assume Mountcastle doesn't really lose any PT, though I suppose he could. I hope Westburg proves that he shouldn't either, but he seems like the most obvious first odd man out. That assumes Mayo can play 3rd though, which I guess isn't clearly confirmed yet.

The offseason will again be interesting. I can't imagine going into next year without any trades, unless some people prove they don't belong. The best case scenario where everyone looks like a major leaguer will make things interesting and difficult.

Cowser will just have to remain patient and take advantage of whatever opportunities present themselves. I don't think they brought him north to get buried. He's legitimately the fourth outfielder on a team that won over 100 games last year.

Urias is pretty much a solid enough major league starter, 3.3 bWAR per 500 PAs, and no one is even considering him when talking about all the options. Yeah, good problem to have.

Personally, I despise all of the hand wringing for the next guy.  We're here to win Games, win games with guys on the roster.  People seem to like the competition aspect until they lose the competition.  Guys will be ok for a minute, but there's coming a time and congrats to Joey Ortiz, but they're leaving everyone else in a Game of musical chairs and they're 4 chairs short.

...., but otherwise it's a question of where do they want him to play and who are they good with taking time away from. If I were Jordan Westburg, I might be a bit pressed to get off to a good start.

I'd rather not focus on this stuff, but it seems pretty obvious they're setting up for Mayo-3B, Gunnar-SS, Holliday-2B and Mounty-1B with Westburg the UT.

That wouldn't be my preference (especially defensively) but whatever.  Mayo at 3B in AAA with Urias holding down the ML spot should tell Westburg everything he needs to know.  I think it winds up being a poor application of resources and I'm not sure why we have to do any of it.  You like Mayo at 3B?  Great....trade Urias, sign Mayo to an 8-yr deal and let him get his reps.

Never like everyone looking over their shoulder and playing like they need a hit in their next AB or they sit.

My only concern for this Team is an unwillingness (or inability) to make choices.

Couple generous strike calls early on. Seems to be a theme early this year.

The last thing the Orioles want to do is make Kremer get more outs than he has to.

Thought Kremer looked pretty sharp. One hard hit ball but four weak ones. Staying away from the middle.
