Maryland picked up their first recruit in the 2025 cycle today, when 4-star DB Jett White (Miami, FL) committed. He had other offers from a large number of blue-blood programs, including Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, and Washington. He had been committed to USC for more than two years, but de-committed three days ago.

3-star OL Kahlil Stewart (Philadelphia, PA) committed to Maryland last night. Had offers from Boston College, James Madison, Kentucky, and Penn State.

Looks like it was 4-star LB Carlton Smith (Norfolk, VA). Becomes Maryland’s second blue-chip recruit in the 2025 class. Had offers from Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and others.

3-star DB Julien Horton (Bel Air, MD) has committed to Maryland. Had offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, West Virginia, and others.

3-star RB Bud Coombs (Hyattsville, MD) has committed to Maryland. He's a dual-sport DeMatha Catholic product who also plans to play baseball for the Terps. Had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, and others.

3-star WR Justin DeVaughn (Pikesville, MD) has committed to Maryland. He had offers from Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Virginia Tech, among others. He has blazing speed, and may also compete for Maryland’s track and field team.

3-star ATH JT Taggart (Towson, MD) has committed to Maryland. Played primarily TE and EDGE in high school, and is the son of longtime football coach Willie Taggart, who is currently the running backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens. He’s a multi-sport athlete, and played volleyball and basketball in high school.

He had offers from Colorado, Indiana, Miami (FL), and Purdue, among others.

3-star OL Ben Beymer (Lakeland, FL) has committed to Maryland. He’s a big young man, standing at 6’8” and weighing in at 300 lbs. Had offers from Duke, Georgia Tech, and Syracuse, among others.

3-star DL Dante Recker (Avon, CT) has committed to Maryland. Good height at 6’6”, probably slots in as a 5-technique in Maryland’s odd-front scheme. Had offers from Navy, UConn, and Temple, among others.

Things are starting to really heat up in the recruitment of 4-star QB Malik Washington (Severn, MD). He’s been Maryland’s top priority for a few years now, and those efforts seem to be paying off. Safe to say the Terps are the team to beat for the Archbishop Spalding blue-chipper.

Massive recruiting weekend is underway in College Park today. Six different blue-chip recruits (including 4-star QB Malik Washington, who’ll be committing next week) will be on campus for official visits.

Following his official visit to Maryland over the weekend, Washington will officially be announcing his commitment on Friday afternoon. He'll be deciding between Maryland, Syracuse, UCF, and Virginia Tech, with the Terps widely expected to be his choice.
