But the game is different between the regular season and the playoffs. That is just dumb.
How is the game itself different?

Well I think that optimal bullpen usage and a good bullpen in general is a repeatable trait, so I don't think there's much regression to be expected unless we can't pull an ace closer out of our magic hat.
By the way, as the team that developed our 2 best bullpen arms from the scrap heap, I'm really surprised at how many people want to buy a bullpen arm for a lot of money. I think that's one area where we should trust the process.

Where was John?
Looking for concerts now that he knows the park is immediately available. Besides, I’d rather not hear from him right now. We’ll know what he would have said when they add no one of consequence this winter.

Elias and Hyde's end-of-season press conferences:

We're a high 80s win team even with regression, and we have some easy upgrades available. Replacing Mateo, Frazier, and Urias with Westburg and Holliday is probably a good 3-4 win improvement. We can probably stand to get younger in the outfield. And we could use an ace. That puts us in the mid-90s in terms of win projection.
In addition to obtaining a good middle of the rotation arm (really, Grayson, Bradish and Means are a solid 1-3, cuz there are needs elsewhere), is to acquire a platoon-proof 1B and DH.
I'm not kidding when I say they really can't afford to run Adley out there as a DH a quarter of the season. Less will actually be more production if you actually get him rest.

I don't see Elias sticking around here much longer. He's gotten his feet wet as a GM and now he can move on to an ownership that's really trying to win.
If John Angelos isn't willing to raise payroll, he'll be out of town as soon as possible (and yes, he'll be an instant hire for all clubs looking for a change).

I think it's a better bet that Elias is still here in 2030 vs. him being gone by 2025.
If anything, he'll be named President, and Sid or Eve will be named GM.

If we get a new owner in time.
He's got a team with a long open window. I think he'll take that.
Once they've won a lot, then sure... maybe he goes elsewhere for a new challenge.

We have a platoon-proof DH, Santander. We need a #2 or better pitcher (my definition here is top-20-30ish in MLB.)
We can probably stand to trade someone like Hays or Mountcastle, depending on your tolerance for one of our rookies there.

This team owes my capital one credit card about $600 in unused tickets. Wonder how long till I see the money
Think they've already credited that towards your '24 season tickets, and awarded you orange bucks. Kidding. Sorta.

Someone want to do the math on payroll with the expected arb numbers of everyone eligile. Its gotta put the payroll as is at 80-90 mil no. Only Gibson and Frazier come off.
IIRC Gibson and Frazier accounted for $18M.
