Ive said from the jump Hyde was bad and would be exposed. Baker is a last resort guy. Anyone else but him early in the game. Game never comes down to one person. Players are expected to perform but I can confidently say Hyde has pushed multiple wrong buttons in this series. All 2 games of it.
I remain absolutely baffled by the asinine decision to bring your worst reliever (Baker) in at that point of the game.

Worst weekend ever safe space

The only explanation I can think of is that it was a giant middle finger from Hyde to Elias for putting him on the roster in the first place.
Ironic that Baker was only on the roster because of Fuji's control issues, and he immediately walked the bases loaded.
That's really the only issue I have with Hyde thus far in this series (well, pinch-hitting Frazier for Westburg early in Game 1 didn't seem like a master stroke, either), but I'd almost have rather had Fuji out there instead of Baker. The Rangers reportedly struggle against high velocity, and Fuji certainly fits that description even if sometimes you don't know where the ball might be going.

For starters, after spending $400 for Sunday ticket, the Ravens are not giving me my ROI. OBJ is good for what...9 minutes of football every 4th game?
When I saw the Rangers v Astros in late Sept, I wondered how that team was in first place for 150 (or whatever it was) games. Their bats were light and their BP was a dumpster fire. Now all of the sudden they're murderer's row with the rotation of the 90's Braves and the 2014 O's BP.
Sometimes the big moment is just too big for a player, and that's OK. When the Rangers went up 9-2, the game was done. But in that acceptance that they were now down 0-2 in the series, they started to hit the ball. It was too late to win that game, but maybe they realized the post season isn't that different than the regular season.
But above all of that I think Hyde has managed afraid. I don't understand why being down 3-2 in the 4th inning made him jump into panic mode, but he did.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

For the Hays bashers.....guy was 3 for 4 yesterday.
Hyde is one of the worst game managers I have ever witnessed.
a. Bring in Baker early in the game when we need to stop the bleeding? Insane.
b. A manager totally hung up with the left right matchups then does NOT PH for Mountcastle when Texas brought in a RH pitcher.
c. PH Frazier for Westburg early in game 1 then the double switch PH leaving no infielders on the bench meaning couldn't use any more bats off the bench.
Look I think the players like playing for him and have learned a great deal from him on how the play the game. But we are past that. This cub needs a baseball manager now.

Well as much as some of you dislike Hyde he’s about to win AL MOY
he ain’t going anywhere
But yea — he stinks this series
As he should. But there is a huge difference between what he has done with this young team (which has been excellent) and thinking he is a good game manager (which he is very poor at IMO).

Research has shown that when a man's favorite team loses, there is a significant reduction in his testosterone level... (honest, no kidding)...
I thought maybe you guys might wanna know that...

Its unfortunate in some ways that this season bought him some stability.

Which is a huge part of a man’s purpose. No wonder there are so many damn Cowboys, Patriots, Red Sox and Yankees fans out there. They’ll take the bandwagon label for still being able to draw wood. I get it now.Research has shown that when a man's favorite team loses, there is a significant reduction in his testosterone level... (honest, no kidding)...

This is why I chuckle at those who say the Orioles *will* win multiple WS titles this decade. Multiple playoff appearances, sure....my only pushback on that would be the Angelos factor. But WS? C'mon. You can have a team good enough to set the major league record for wins and then some 88-win team comes along and snuffs you out like the regular season never happened. Same as it ever was.
All I heard about was how the Ravens finally have receiving weapons. What good are they if they don't catch the ball? Same as it ever was.
The Terps were supposed to lose, but damnit they could have at least made it interesting if Tagovailoa didn't have yet another one of his meltdowns. If nothing else, they would have covered if he had just given them a chance to kick the FG before halftime. Same as it ever was.

People said the same about the Jays a few years ago. The Padres too. To a lesser extent, the White Sox. Nothing is guaranteed.
THIS is why I was so mad at the trade deadline. We were (hopefully not dead yet) on the cusp but did nothing to increase our chances. Sure we think we are built for a run of a number of years but that may or may not happen. Can't look past what is right in front of you, Now certainly you don't go stupid. But we did essentially nothing to improve the club at the deadline. Nothing.

Orioles:
CHOKE IT IN!
Sell the team.
Go hard after Blake Snell in FA.
Ravens:
You're a joke. I'm done until Harbaugh is gone. I'll watch the games because I can't help myself. But it's not an event to me anymore and I'm done making it one. It will not be my top priority on a Sunday afternoon anymore. The wife will be thrilled. We made a four hour drive last Sunday when they played the Browns. and I asked her to drive so I could watch the game on my phone. She is great and had no problem doing it. But if other things come up the Ravens are second fiddle. If the grass needs cutting and the only window without rain is the 3 hours during the Ravens game, I'll cut the grass instead of waiting a day.
They just do the same things over and over again and the results never change. Lose enough winnable games to underachieve and be bounced before or early in the playoffs. The ceiling is much higher than that here. They would be so good if they weren't so smart.
$260M can't buy ball security. Lamar is MID. MID is the worst type of player to give big money too. Been preaching this for years. QBs on rookie deals or pay the elite. Cardinals already trying to get out of Murray's deal. Ravens screwed up. See if a coaching change unlocks anything. If not, bite the bullet when the dead money isn't $100M, and move on. Plenty of teams make the playoffs every year with MID QBs and don't have to pay them $52M AAV.
Bottom line, Harbaugh has to go. This is team that is 5-0 if they got out of their own way. Instead, they are a MID 3-2.
Terps:
Hard to take you guys seriously when getting to the Tyson's Chicken Bowl or Potato salad bowl or whatever is considered successful. You haven't been relevant since Fridge left and that's a fact. Apologists will say otherwise. Keep building...for what, 5 years now?
Multiple times a year someone upsets a top-5, top-10 team. It's never you though. Never even close. 20 points isn't close. Had the chance and pissed in the wind instead. In Harbaugh-esque style you blew multiple 1st half chances to plant seeds of doubt in 108,000 people, and you didn't.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for delaying the O's game and sucking me into the Terps game for a glimmer of hope that it might be the day they do something amazing.
I remember where I was when the MD beat #5 Florida State, finally getting that monkey off their back. It was 20 years ago. It's the last signature win in program history. Sad, sad, sad program history. They haven't killed a player lately, so that's progress, I guess.

It really is incredible how stupid NFL coaches can be. I mean here they are, coaching at an elite level, getting paid millions, making in game mistakes that some unemployed incel playing Madden knows not to make.

You guys all feel how you feel, and I'm not saying you are 'wrong'... you are all great fans.
You wouldn't be hurting if you weren't fans.
You spend a lot of time here talking sports, and you spend a lot of time going to games, watching games, etc.
In some ways I respect that you care as much as you do.
I'd be lying though if I told you these losses impacted me for more than 30 seconds.
Orioles - You won 101 games, and you've lost 2 games in a short-series. Post-season baseball is flipping a coin and these short-sample series tell you basically nothing, but narratives write themselves win or lose. O's haven't been swept in a long time. They played great on the road this year. Won't be surprised at all if Kremer and Gibson get the series back to Baltimore. Either way, the window is wide open, and imo this will be the worst O's team for sometime (records probably won't be as good, but there will be better teams).
Ravens - Most games are close in the NFL. When you don't step on the neck when you have a team down, you'll often get bit. Especially if you give away points. Good chance to win the North, but yesterday was a missed opportunity. Probably one of the worst Ravens losses I recall. Gave the game away.
Terps - The program continues to have annual incremental growth. Nobody had them leaving Columbus with a win. If there's any irritation, it's that MD wasn't out athleted... competed on both lines against a perennial National contender... but they made some errors, and also left points on the board.
The O's might come back and win the series... but even if they get swept out tomorrow, fully believe they'll be a post-season fixture for years.
The Ravens are probably in the 8-12 range in the power rankings, which can feel like purgatory, but they've got a punchers chance to do something of note in January. We'll see.
MD has a decent chance to end the regular season with 9 wins, in the Top 25, and looking for a 3rd straight bowl win.
Need to win the games they are favored in, and show-up in the games they're not. Do that, and do some damage recruiting wise and with the portal.
Ultimately sports are a diversion for all of us.
From our lives, and the bs that we're all dealing with as individuals and collectively.
I'm sorry any of you are hurting.
Hopefully that hurting and having something to care about - is enjoyable to you at some level.

Yup. And I agree with Mike Lowe. Its one thing to think they should make the playoffs numerous times. Lol at expecting 1, let alone multiple WS titles. Look at the Dodgers over the last decade. How dominant they have been in the reg season. Remember the Braves for 15 years or whatever it was. They only won 1 as well.People said the same about the Jays a few years ago. The Padres too. To a lesser extent, the White Sox. Nothing is guaranteed.
The truth is Bos and NY and to an extent Tor will never be down for long. They will always have a lot of money and resources to throw at their issues. Playing in this divsion remains a kick in the balls. This year the AL was wide open. To grind so hard for 162 to not show up at all in the playoffs. After no postseason baseball at OPACY for 9 years this is the turd you lay. Its a lot of salt in the wound.

Kids soccer tournament Saturday kept me from watching any of Saturday's game but maybe that was a good thing? Refs hosed us and awarded the other team a pk off an inadvertent handball and that was the difference in which team advanced.
Maybe that was a good thing though also as the consolation game on Sunday was tough sledding to say the least. Came home in time to see Lamar fumble away a potential winning drive. All still would have been fine if the O's had won but that wasn't to be either. The only thing there that irked me was Baker, even with Means hurt he never should have been on the roster (his numbers were garbage in Norfolk as well) so I wasn't really surprised to see him crap the bed.
Personally I'm in a good spot right now with my fandom, maybe I'm maturing now that I'm 41. The Ravens game stinks but they are my #2 and I just keep them at arm's length these days to avoid getting so pissed off. The Birds losing though is disappointing, I want them to go all the way, but heck at a bare minimum lets avoid the sweep. The idea that their Season could be done so soon is depressing.
