Agree with the O's announcers: Tucker's looked odd out in RF tonight.

Well, a neutral scorer calls his gaffe earlier a three base error and not a triple.
It's one of the fundamental rules in the OF: get your butt to where the ball is going to be played. In a way it's like tennis, where half the freakin sport is getting into position in time in order to swing your racket.

An Orioles outfielder shows the ability to be a robber (of Home Runs ).

Now I know why I sucked at tennis.

Did I miss anything from earlier? Why is Hyde so pissed?
Probably because the runner impeded Mountcastle catching the ball past the bag. Mountcastle is the one who has a right to that space, not necessarily the runner.
ETA - he didn't impede him catching the ball, but he did clip him with his spikes on his calf.

Somewhere Earl is looking down and smiling. Hyde still doesn't use his cap as well as Earl, though.

I think he was mad because it took the ump so long to make the call. Probably impacted the ability to challenge the call. Also, that ump was bush to toss Hyde while he was walking away. Can't let anyone get the last word.
No they already lost their challenge earlier in the game when Mateo was called out on a grounder to SS.

Is that type of play challengeable? And besides, I think the Orioles had already used their challenge.

Well, Garcia was on the phone. Can't they ask for a crew chief challenge? Either way, the whole world waited an inordinate amount of time for him to make call. I guess because everyone was there to see him ump tonight.

Actually I think the O's booth missed the 'safe' call the ump gave (wasn't demonstrable by any means). I really think Hyde went out to bark about Mounty getting clipped by the runner. If he's fielding the ball on the baseline past the bag, that's his space, and Tucker (?) violated it.

The crew chief can initiate the challenge after the eighth inning.
I guess we'll find out after the game.
