Head's up play by Mateo because of a stupid running mistake by Realmuto.
There's no way the runner knew how far up the middle Mateo was shaded. Most runners are going to go on instinct on balls hit to their left. Terrific play by Mateo nonetheless.

Big DP. I wouldnt be afraid to let Irvin start the 5th here though. Bradish doesnt have it and you have some lefties coming up in the 5th. Hyde will send him out there though. No feel. Irvin hasnt pitched in forever anyway

Oh a guy as seasoned as Realmuto absolutely knew where Mateo was lined up. Dude's one of the best catchers in MLB.

Sure, he's so good he has eyes in the back of his head. He broke on instinct. Runners are taught to break on balls hit to their left.

I mean, you do understand there's a reset after every single pitch, right?
Hell, even as a runner at second base, you have to be cognizant of where the 2B and SS are lined up.
