Getting Givens and Tate back sooner rather than later is very important IMO.

Tate won’t be back until mid to late May unfortunately. But will be nice when Givens and McCann are healthy.

Yeah, my prediction here doesn't look good based on the first week.
It's a long season though.  At some point I think we get to Santander mostly at DH, with Stowers mostly in RF.

But if the plan is rotating  a number of guys in and out of DH, that might not work.

The issue with Stowers getting 450 at bats is multiplying by the day.

 

1. Clear that the O;s plan to move the DH around and not just put Santander there (IIRC last year he stated he wanted to play the field and not be a DH full time).

 

2. You aren't sitting Adley more than once/week so if he sits once he's going to DH once.

 

3. Guys in the minors are going to be knocking on the door to get a call up. Gotta expect at least one or two hitters this summer. Nowthey may replace a current guy on the roster like for like. But they also may get some DH at bats.

 

For those who think Stowers gets 450 at bats this season, you probably should place a prop bet in Vegas. Bet the odds would be pretty friendly.

It's simply time to stop saying you expect 450 AB's. Again, it might happen, but it's not in the plans. That is clear as day.
