If you're playing a converted 2B with a weak hit tool in LF over Stowers..... something ain't right.

We're not talking a foot ball or basketball or even hockey coach drawing up plays, scheming for your players to succeed, etc. Fill out a lineup card where your best players are getting the most ABs, basic bullpen matchups, isn't that difficult.

In game strategy? Sure. But that's like 1% of the job.Being a MLB manager has to be the easiest position as a manager in any pro sport. The job pretty much does itself.

There are times when almost literally any of us could go out there sit on the bench and manage the team. When things are going that well or that bad it doesnt matter that much. There are often easy moves to make or buttons to push. These are no the things that matter to me.
That's just silly

Managers matter. . . except when they don't.
Just as a team can win because of a good manager, they can also win despite having a bad manager. I'm not convinced Brandon Hyde is a bad manager; what I do know is that the Orioles as currently comprised aren't good enough to win in spite of he or anyone else.

I mean, I'm not sure what to say here. The team was one of the biggest single season turnarounds in recent memory despite selling at the deadline. I don't have many strong feelings about Hyde either way, but giving him no credit for that seems insane to me.
I think that there are two things in play with this line of thinking when it comes to Hyde. One is, " What have you done for me lately? The second is that the manager generally takes the fall when a team underachieves. That said, calling for the guys head after three games seems like an overreaction to me.

We're already upset with the manager after three games because McKenna can't catch a fly ball in the 9th?

I think this is confirmation bias for an opinion already held based on the way Hyde managed the team down the stretch last year when the games started to matter (criticism I agree with, though not to the extent that I would make a change because of it). I don't think 2035 has gone from pro to anti since this season started. Just from anti to more justified feeling of anti.
