NIL is one of the things that 'some' recruits will be looking for (all looking for, not all will get). 

The thing MD will deal with - and we saw some this off-season - is you develop some guys, and then watch schools want to come and poach. 
 

I think Locksley did a good on the other end, getting targets of his own.

I'm just going with his direct quotes, but he seems to feel otherwise.

This flew way under the radar, but I was just checking the football staff roster and saw that Locksley added former NFL linebacker NaVorro Bowman as a defensive analyst for this season. Their ties go all the way back to the local high school scene, where Bowman played at Suitland High.

While I know he has one, Locksley doesn’t really show a sense of humor often, and he’s never been one for sarcasm as far as I can tell. I think it was a veiled appeal for people to get involved with NIL, but I definitely think there was some frustration in those words that his straightforward, relationship building style of recruiting doesn’t go as far in the NIL era. And the 24-7 rankings might be a reflection of that…..after signing the #18 class in 2021, they followed it with classes ranked #31 and #36.

University of Maryland Athletics will unveil a new state-of-the-art LED lighting system at SECU Stadium this season.

 

Choreographed LED lighting sequences will be added to key moments during home games at SECU Stadium. These moments will include the team's intro sequence prior to kickoff, key in-game situations (i.e. Maryland touchdowns, defensive takeaways, etc.), and in conjunction with other special elements during commercial timeouts.

 

The new lighting system will be prominently featured as the Terps have nationally-televised night games against Charlotte (Sept. 9 / 7:30 p.m. on NBC) and Virginia (Sept. 15 / 7 p.m. on FS1).

Forbes released their college rankings. MD came in at 34 (13 among public)

NW Michigan and Illinois only BIG 10 ranked higher (USC UCLA and UW are also higher)

Question. Maryland has clearly raised in academic stature since my dumb ass went there. Would this begin to hinder recruiting raising admission standards? Everyone talks about Notre Dame and their academic standards but Maryland is actually ranked higher.
