I don't mind (might even like) the extension... the salary bump is interesting. Still seems like they have salary constraints keeping assistants... that's some additional $ that could be used there.

A lot of times the assistant salary pool is referenced, if not explicitly spelled out in the head coach's contract. Hopefully he negotiated a bigger pool in there. I'm sure he at least tried. With that new TV deal kicking in this fall, the money ought to be there.

Sheppard will be carted off the field. Hate to see this in a spring game, hopefully it isn’t serious enough to keep him out this season.
DB Ja’Quan Sheppard, transfer from Cincinnati who’s expected to play a huge role this season, goes down with a scary head injury.

Another touchdown reception for Chambers, this time from Cam Edge.
First team offense gets their first touchdown, a red zone pass from Taulia Tagovailoa to Tyrese Chambers.

I’m excited about the ‘23 season. Thanks for all the updates, Zack.

Ugh. That's rough. Obviously hope he's ok.

Sounds like they hired former 49ers/PSU linebacker and Suitland native NaVorro Bowman as a defensive analyst.

The Athletic (paywall): Maryland football success is always fleeting. How can the Terps rewrite the narrative in the Big Ten?
Interesting quote from Locksley indicating how fast college football changed, and particularly how money is allocated has changed. He seems to express regret that they just put $150M into a football facility right at the dawn of the NIL era.
“Unfortunately, we moved in at a time when facilities have been de-emphasized in a recruit’s mind,” Locksley said. “Because they’d get dressed in the trash can for $25,000.”
