Call me crazy, but I like to get to know who's on my team.... not a constant rotating door every year.

OL Mason Lunsford has entered the transfer portal. This one is a surprise, as he’s been the starting left guard for the last two years and was expected to do the same in 2023.
He signed with LSU. As a grad transfer, I don't believe he was subject to the portal window restrictions that undergrads are. Don't know how LSU's class calendar works, so no idea if he can practice this spring or not.

At-least he left for a program like LSU. That's easier to take.

Portal season is back.
OL Leon Kindred announced he'll be transferring. He was one of two OLs (Ja'Kavion Nonar the other) that they got from Belle Glade, FL in the 2022 class.

Wasn't all that impressed with Deery when he played. Hopefully Harris has made some strides. Otherwise, it's time for the portal to giveth.

Transfer portal is ruining college sports. Athletes are just hired mercenaries.
And yet people still watch in droves, so TV networks pay more and more to broadcast college sports. C'mon. Transfers have no impact on the product you watch on the field/court. Just tune out the noise in between the seasons if you hate it. Or tune out college sports completely if it bothers you so much.

Ah yes, because the good old days of athletes being taken advantage of at every turn was so fantastic. The transfer portal isn’t perfect, but I’ll take it every single day over the system that existed before it.

No problem with players leaving... but leaving multiple times per year, and after Spring ball... I think that needs to change.
Open portal after the season, and then should be locked in for the upcoming season by say March 1st.

April 30th came and went with no news of any departures. They do still have a few more scholarships available to do some portal shopping with. Hopefully an OL or two.

Maryland hosted former Texas A&M OL Matthew Wykoff on campus over the weekend. He started 9 games at center for the Aggies last season, allowing just one sack. He’s an excellent candidate to replace Deery.
He chose Cal.
