Odor does not suck in key situations.
820 OPS late & close this year. 630 for the season overall. So yeah, he's come through a lot when it counts the most.

Odor with a half job. Run out of the box Rougie and the O's have the lead. At least he DID get the most important half of the job....lol

Another strike out on another ball....

And a very non-competitive at-bat by Mullins. But again, if Odor had just run hard. . .

Two borderline strike calls before that, hard to take a close one.

Don't need to choose. Both feelings are valid.

Given the infield hit there is no question we'd have the lead unless Odor got thrown out at home. Even if they held him at 3rd on the Stowers hit he scores on the infield hit.
This is twice now that Hyde has pulled a pitcher who seemed to be dealing with 2 outs and nobody on. Just not sure I like that always going for the lefty righty matchup thing. I am sure the analytics say yes but a lot of the reason to get to the bullpen in the first place is because you never know if a guy coming in is going to have it or not. When you have a guy on the mound who seems to have it let them finish the inning.

Now it has worked in that both times the next batter got out. In a tight game like this I just worry that you go through your good relievers faster than you need to?

3-4 outs for these guys is fine. A bit quick maybe, but with the new extra inning rules you don't have to worry about super deep games. I'd rather have the better relievers in now than save them for an appearance that may not come. No margin for error, so get it right now and hope it works out later.

Mackus perhaps you are right. I forgot about the stupid extra innings rule.

Adley has been really biting on that sinker out of the zone lately.
