Aside from swinging at a pitch that hit him on the foot, that was a pretty loud and productive out by Vavra.

I’m confused by that call on the replay. He swings, ball hits ground first then hits him. Catcher doesn’t field it. Run scores. What am I missing?
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Btw, that play Mullins just made is why the Yankees dealt from their (then) current starting rotation for Harrison Bader.

Baseball has a lot of dumb rules. Vavra swung the bat, but the play becomes dead because the ball hit the batter. Vavra is not awarded 1B because he swung (as such, ruled a strike).
