Bring back Mel Proctor

I mean this game seemed lost from the start with Baker, who sucks, and Lowther who is worse! Shame.

Thank you MLBTV for blacking out this game in Portland. Seriously.

Lowther is pretty much already lost in the shuffle. Wells is pretty much already lost in the shuffle. IMO Baumann is very close to being lost in the shuffle.

Lowther was bad, but he got through 5.1 innings which may pay dividends the next few nights.

The thing I dislike about BP games is they have the chance to turn one loss into 3.

...actually a nice effort by Lowther to get 5+ innings in tonight.  If you don't score, it doesn't matter how many you give up.

Lowther was always going to throw a lot of pitches tonight. Sacraficial lamb. Diplan is another guy that can be sent out at any time so the high leverage arms all got a night off.

Baumann has thrown 21 big league innings and he is already lost in the shuffle??

Wells 46 Innings?

Lowther 35 including tonight.  If we are going to write guys off that early, we are going to make a lot of mistakes.

He kept them from burning the pen.

They will bring Vespi or Baumann up to replace him if they have been down 10 days.

Alex Wells but yes Im comfortable saying Lowther isnt a ML arm in any way. Baumann Im almost there with. Wells is in the Baumann boat. Not completely written off but close.

Palmer seemed to be making a linkage between Kirby pitching tonight against the Orioles and GRod still in the minors.  Kirby was drafted in 2016 out of HS, but by the Mariners in the 1st round in 2019.  GRod was draft in 2018 and signed out of HS.

Physical maturity is significant and 2 years makes a big difference at this age range.

It will also be interesting to see how the reduced workloads of 2020 for most MiL shows up years down the road....it may mean those classes (2018-2019) get slow played (especially for HSers) but the lower early workloads may have some longer term durability benefits.  Almost impossible to implement something like that in an Organization...everyone wants to get to work....but when forced to do it...we'll see (maybe).
