Would love the oddity of another first hit triple, but that's a double and an error.

Why are official scorers so afraid of assigning errors now. Seems like unless a guy drop kicks the ball into the stands they call it a hit.

Clearly a double and an error, but the Official Scorer gets caught up in the drama.
Good piece of hitting, keeping hands back on the changeup.

Adley Rutschman isn't tied "rebuilding". He was going to debut this month regardless of the competitive approach of the Orioles the last 3+ years.

No, if they were competitive he may debut as early as 2020.

That was the best routine foul pop-up to the catcher to end the 8th inning in the history of Orioles baseball.

So if you think it's an inflection point then what does that mean? We won't be trading away guys (Mancini, Santander, RP) this year? We'll be adding at the deadline? They'll be aggressively promoting other guys? Actually give out multi-year contracts in the off-season?

I don't think that's true. This was his year-0. He certainly could have debuted earlier, but it would likely have been through a contract.
If the Orioles had traded for Headley in August 2012, Manny wouldn't have debuted in September that year. The Orioles weren't making move to compete before the 2012 season and the success was a surprise.
Had the Orioles done more to compete 2019-2022, they'd have likely had better catching options and avoided the anticipation of a prospect solving a problem.
