If the team were playing for something he'd have been up before this year. Certainly for 2021 but I also think there is a shot he'd be up in 2020 for a good team as well.I don't think that's true. This was his year-0. He certainly could have debuted earlier, but it would likely have been through a contract.
If the Orioles had traded for Headley in August 2012, Manny wouldn't have debuted in September that year. The Orioles we're making move to compete before the 2012 season and the success was a surprise.
Had the Orioles done more to compete 2019-2022, they'd have likely had better catching options and avoided the anticipation of a prospect solving a problem.

Nah. They'd just play Pedro Severino.

Nice touch
They gave out physical Adley debut ticket stubs out to fans as we were leaving.

If you listen to Elias's presser today it sure sounds like the flip is being switched.
So if you think it's an inflection point then what does that mean? We won't be trading away guys (Mancini, Santander, RP) this year? We'll be adding at the deadline? They'll be aggressively promoting other guys? Actually give out multi-year contracts in the off-season?

We really need one of the 2B/3B but Henderson, Westburg, Ortiz, Mayo are still a ways away.
