Maryland not making shots, and giving up too many offensive rebounds to Indiana. But the defense has been solid otherwise.

I’d love to beat Indiana. There’s a little hatred there for me. Still think they could become our new Duke if both ever get good at the same time.

Maybe I’m thinking of Cole or something, I don’t know, but they should show the students. It’s what makes college basketball so fun.

 

Those are students behind the benches (aside from immediately behind both teams).  The Turgeonites, for example, are (were?) just in the student section behind the Maryland bench.  Court is surrounded by student section, then you also have up the wall and on the wings of the wall a little.

 

I don't think you can really show the action on the court at the same time as the wall.  You do see it if you get a behind-the-shooter look on a FT from the visiting bench side.

Yeah, the cameras have always faced towards the benches. Go back and look at film from 2003, same thing.

Watch any other college basketball game. Why does Maryland do this? It doesn’t capture the magic of the MD student base.

Total opposite when you watch Michigan St., Duke, really anywhere, the whole time you watch the crazed students. I love it.

I know you can’t show the wall in game. But they should show the side of the court that is 100% students IMO. Move the families somewhere else or something. It looks terrible compared to most other college games. Doesn’t capture the magic.

At no point in this half have the teams seemed evenly matched. They are alternating a couple minute stretches at a time of seeming total domination that has somehow leveled out.
