If baseball was invented now, I highly doubt they'd choose the 3+ hour per game, 162 games a season option. So a 7 inning game actually makes more sense in terms of time of game.

That said, baseball is a sport where it's tradition and history is more important than any other American sport, so changing things can really rile people up.

In that '12-'16 run, did we have two TOR pitchers? Lots of ways to build a team. Do agree they'll need to be productive, but they won't need to be Aces in '23 imo.

They mostly succeeded thanks to a dominant bullpen and were ahead of the curve in the current all or nothing HR atmosphere.
