I am not sure this was in the card for signing Bell, but what happens if this place is a hitter's heaven. It is tough to spend money in long contracts, when it is not clearly known what they have in front of them park wise. These were big splash get butts in the seat moves, but it does not mean anything into the win column.
I live North West of Miami in the winter and glad I do not have to pay the bonds on that stadium.

What is the end game here? Marlins have spent money trying to win. Ramirez in the lineup makes winning more likely. Attempting to move him now, would likely result in getting less back than he is worth.

Fully agree with Golebiewski's contention about Johnson here. If Johnson returns to his previous form (and Ramirez accepts his move to 3rd) that team can take off.
If Miami is contending at the non-waiver deadline, I could see them being a team interested in Guthrie.

The Marlins can no longer make excuses(or atleast as many) now that they have one which is climate controlled. I think the team will do very well at the box office this year like many other new stadiums tend to do. The interesting thing to me is will they be playing in front of 10-15k in five years though? That's the real mystery.
I caught some of the Yankees-Marlins game yesterday, to say the least it's a very interesting stadium. I found "display" in center field quite hideous.
I give the Marlins a lot of credit in shedding their cheap label. Even if they screwed over the citizens of South Florida in the stadium deal, they showed they were serious about competing.

Jeffery Loria is the worst owner in baseball, at least now that McCourt is going away.

They knew, he just crossed the line even by his standards. The suspension was just, all will be forgiven if he wins IMO and sticks to calling out his players instead of using slurs/praising brutal dictators. He seemed genuinely sorry.Did the Marlins not know what they were getting themselves into when they hired Guillen as manager. He's going to be outspoken and say whatever is on his mind.

Currently they are ranked:
20th in Runs
21st in Batting average
19th in OBP
21st in Slugging
14th in ERA
3rd in Quality Starts
14th in WHIP
17th in Batting average against
Stanton has a .885 OPS, 10 hr's, and 11 doubles in RF.
Morrison is struggling with a knee injury. .659 OPS, 2 hr's, 3 doubles.
You forget that Buck had 20 hr's, and a .803 OPS in '10 for Toronto. He is struggling right now, batting .173.
With Bonifacio on the DL, Bryan Petersen is starting in CF. Chris Coghlan is starting in LF. Neither have a lot of ab's yet, but the Marlins are getting nothing out of either one.
Moved to 3rd for Reyes, Ramirez has .766 OPS (.880 career), with 7 hr's, and 11 doubles. He has walked 18 times, and struck out 36 times.
After making just 9 starts in '11, Josh Johnson has made 9 starts here in '12.
He is 2-3, with a 4.82 era. In his 52.1 ip, allowing 62 hits, 2 hr's, 17 bb's, with 42 k's. His OPS against is .745, and his G/F is 1.10.
Anibal Sanchez is having a good year. Buehrle, Nolasco, and Zambrano have been solid.
