I've got little confidence in the long-term outlook for Hays and Stewart and Mullins as anything more than a reserve OF. Of course thrilled with Mullins' performance this year and Stewart's hot streak is eye-opening especially paired with the walks he was accumulating beforehand. Hays has been a black hole, but maybe he can do something with the last couple weeks to reignite the interest.

It's nice to have some guys who at least clearly have some talent, even if their warts may prevent them from being able to stick.

No real thoughts on Hays long term yet as a regular. Agree on Mullins and Stewart.

Still believe in Hays.
But even if you don't believe in Hays, Stewart, or Mullins... you still have Santander and Diaz as better corner OFs than Mancini and Mountcastle imo.

And if you trade Nunez...easy to slot Mancini and Mountcastle to 1st and DH.

FTR agree Mountcastle has been plenty livable in left so far.

Somebody tell Valiaka that there's already too much talent on this team.

I kmow you don't think I was being serious.

I thought you were kidding, frankly wasn't sure, but there is more talent then I thought.

To be fair some like Mullins, Stewart, probably Hays, are platoon types or reliable back up types, but none of these players have a large sample size or have been given long stretches in the majors, so who knows who may emerge.

I agree. I think it's too early to rule out any of these guys for the long term.

Let's give Hyde some credit for creating an environment where so many players seem to be outperforming expectations.

Os entered tonight with a -8 run differential. They maintain this lead they'll be in the plus tomorrow.

I think it's still too early to really tell, but I'm beginning to feel optimistic about the Orioles Player Development program for the first time in my life.

This really has been a lot of fun. I'll always hold a special place for this O's team.

Half a game out of the playoffs. Big series this weekend.

All but 3 of the remaining games after this series are against team's who are currently playoff teams.

-4 in NY

-3 vs. Atlanta

-5 vs. TB

-3 in Buffalo

I think our fun may have peaked, but it'd be fun to keep it going into next week by putting up a strong showing this weekend vs. the Yankees.

We own the Yankees now, Atlanta has no starting pitching, we swept the Rays earlier this season, and Buffalo is a minor league stadium. Let’s go.

Every game they get to play with playoff stakes is meaningful for the next time it happens, win or lose
