Yeah the sample was small but a 630 OPS against as a reliever vs 875 as starter. And even as a starter it was 759 against the first time through the order, 911 the second, 1079 the third. Seems like he could be decent in 2 inning stints. Don't let him face guys twice.

Balt Sun: Oriole of the Day: Move to the bullpen bodes well for Jorge López
I would like to see Lopez, try to become one of the back end of the pen guys. 1-2 inning appearances, where he just lets it fly. I think he can consistently sit at 98-99 MPH in that role.

0.88 ERA and 0.880 WHIP seems like a pretty good combo

Yes and considering it was done in high pressure situations, makes it more impressive.

I think it is fair to say, Jorge deserves the great success he is having.

Just another 4 out, 14 pitch save for Lopez. Beast.
And in another 1-run game. His saves totals won't be memorable but he's a third of the way through one of the all-time great closer years. Hope he can keep it up.

3 multi-inning, one-run saves this week. 6 already on the season for Jorge Lopez.
Britton had 1 multi-inning, one-run save in 2016.
Johnson had none in '12 or '13.
Sherrill had 1 in '08.
Ryan had 2 in '05
Myers had 1 in '97.
Olson had 5 in '89, 3 in '90, and 2 in '92
Didn't check any other guys or years, but this is pretty amazing.

Chris Ray had 5 in 2006 (total of 9 saves > 1 inning).
Givens had 4 in 2019 (total of 6 saves > 1 inning, out of only 11 saves total!).
Buck pretty clearly managed with very defined bullpen roles IMO. No reason Britton and even Johnson, both experienced starters in the minors, couldn't go 1.1 once in a while. At the same time, when you had set up guys like O'Day that were so effective you didn't have to.

To show how impressive he was before Friday, opposing hitters were:
6 for 39 in April
6 for 41 in May
4 for 46 in June
Now 6 for 7 in July
