Smith has signed with Maryland, and becomes their fourth 4-star recruit so far in the 2022 class. He’s been recruited as a WR, but also has the ability to play DB.

Maryland is now bordering on another Top 25 class, and is up to #7 in the conference.

One great part about this class is how DMV-focused it is. 7 of the top 8 players are from the DMV, with Knotts being the only exception from NC.

The major departures we’ve seen from the program this year have all been out-of-state guys (Lewis, Jennings, Jacobs, Boone). The DMV players have all bought in to Locksley’s stay-at-home movement.

From the sounds of it he had already "silently" signed with them back in Dec. He just waited for the UAAA game today to announce it. He would have been a nice addition with Cross and Mosley departing early. At least the staff knew Turner-Gooden wasn't coming all along, so I imagine they've been focused on adding another S from the portal.

4-star QB Cameron Edge (Smyrna, DE) will be on campus this weekend. He’s technically a 2023 recruit but there’s talk that he’ll be reclassifying to 2022. People also seem to think Maryland has a very good chance to land him.

He’s currently ranked as the 17th-best QB in the country, and the best player from the state of Delaware. Stay tuned.

Josh Jennings, a 2022 TE from Good Counsel, tweeted he's committed to MD. He doesn't show up in any recruiting databases I've seen. I'm guessing he'll be a PWO.
