Exactly 400 days later….Bobby Witt Jr returned from PSA

Graded 8.

Still going to be the most expensive card in the collection.

However, they must have felt bad and sent some Gem Mint 10s to make up for it. I sent in Witt with 5 other cards.

Robert RC - Gem 10
Robert RC - Mint 9
Robert 2030 insert - Gem 10
Bichette 1985 chrome insert - Gem 10
Bichette RC chrome prism refractor- Gem 10

That seems insane to me, but I did only send in the ones that looked good.

An 8 doesn’t add any value. I’d crack it and sell it raw to someone who thinks it will grade higher.

Or you could always send it in again and how you get a better result lol.

Did you clean the card before you sent?

Maybe. I can post a pic in the natural light tomorrow. If you find the pic a few pages back from when I ripped it, the top right and bottom left corners are the tiniest bit dinged. In the case, it looks like that little blemish is accentuated. Out of the case, could be worse?

Target is stocked like its 2018 again. Picked up 2 hanger boxes of update for fun. Some of my faves. I love the 1992 inserts. I probably have more 1992 topps than anything else from my childhood. Cool to get the RM RC, and the MVP in that. Means No-no. Chrome insert looks sharp. Nelly ASG black parallel is #/299. Comes in 1/132 boxes.

1992 Topps had 1 card a pack(think it was 1 a pack) with a a gold colored bottom of the card. Remember being over the moon when I pulled a Griffey Jr gold.

So you guys can help me out. How much value does a card lose as it gets knocked down the grading scale. Ive got probably 7 or 8 Jeter Topps RCs but Im sure none of them are anywhere close to a 9 or 10. Is a 10 that much more valuable than a 9. A 9 compared to an 8 etc.

Yeah, like Pedro said, check eBay. Be specific when you you put your card in the search. Filter by “sold”. Which will show all the prices in green and the date they sold. Card like that, I’m sure many have been sold that are 10s, 9s, 8s, ungraded. That should give you an idea.

I’m just chilling so I looked real quick. Is it the 1992 draft pick card? PSA 10s can get you $500. 9s, $70-80. 8s, $50. Ungraded, $20 or less.

Wouldn’t happen to have the Marlins or Rockies inaugural season stamp on any of them would you? Much more rare. Also saw one that was the gold version, graded 9, that sold in the $160 range.

Got about 30 cards back from PSA yesterday -- I sent them in with a submission group, paid $19 a card.  Those days appear to be gone -- I got mine in right before PSA shut down entirely for a bit.

 

Gem of the group was a 1st Chrome Witt graded at a 10.  Right now it sells on ebay for about $250-$275 but if he explodes this year (maybe win ROY?  pretty please?) then it will skyrocket.

 

Gonna hold for now.

I think I’m gonna list mine when he gets the call up. Feel like that’s a safe time before he either gets better and it’s worth more, or gets hurt, goes 2 for 48 and sent back down and isn’t worth as much.

Completed my collection of every 1st Bowman for a current Orioles prospect, including some current players on the ML roster. Most recent purchases being Cowser and Norby 1st Bowman autos. Also hit a /99 Bowmans Best Cowser auto in a box break.
