I like what I have heard of the new stuff so far.

Upon first listen, I'd give it a 7/10.
Better than Everything Now, for sure.

It grew on me exponentially my second listen. Curious if that’ll happen with you too. I like the musical themes throughout. Touched on some past themes from their previous legendary albums, whilst mixing in some more modern alt rock themes, sans the intense abstract stuff, for the most part. Lyrically, solid, some beautiful lines of course, but through and through not as legendary in that regard as previous albums. Much better than the previous 2 albums IMO.Upon first listen, I'd give it a 7/10.
Better than Everything Now, for sure.

End of the Empire 1-3 is so good. Both Lightning songs as well. Well timed with current events.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Not sure they can ever top their first 3 after 20 years as a band. Not many bands could. Not many at all.

Sweet spot of the album is Lightning I - WE.
End of the Empire is great, but not something I want to listen to without being in a certain mood. Anxiety is a solid start to the album but the tech-disco in part II (Rabbit Hole) struck to my PTSD from the previous album.
