Finally listened to "Everything Now".
Digging it...but it's a little long, like "Reflector" was long.

Not so much with that one.

Yeah. Not feeling it.

Not really feeling this one either.
So far they're 1 for 4. Haven't been crazy about anything besides "Everything Now".
The other songs just don't seem to really go anywhere.

So Wolf Parade is back together, touring, and releasing an album in October. Canadian Indie Rock is back, baby!

Finishing up the album now. Definitely their weakest. Some decent songs on here but it's a pretty lifeless, monotone album which is something you'd never say about their previous work.

It's not very good.
They're trending down which is a shame.
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Yeah...but 5 albums in, it's to be expected after 3 classics and one very good, if not great, 4th album. This may be their Amnesiac or Hail to the Thief, depending on whether Amnesiac is an album or just a bunch of Kid-A B-sides -- a fifth album that shows the band is in need of reinvention. They've done the disco thing for 2+ albums now...it started with "Sprawl II". They've also mined the African/Calypso stuff enough too. It's time to find another genre to draw inspiration from. Maybe Tony-OH ended up right about them after all.
I think "Put Your Money on Me" is the best song and ironically, probably the most disco-y. But it is a weak album, by their standards.

I think it's pretty good, but pretty good is a long way from their first 3 albums.
If they axed the Infinite Content songs and especially Peter Pan, this would have been a good to very good album IMO.

I don't know, it's still one of the better new albums I've listened to in a while. Agree it's nowhere near their best though. Still quality. Still digging the message.

I must admit that I'm liking this more with repeated listens.

We Southern boys just don't get your alls' fascination with this band. Sounds like a bunch of gerbils dying.
