Wish A&M was playing Texas. That was such a good rivalry

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Such an advantage for LSU to be the 1 seed.

First of all, whoever is the one seed avoids having to beat 2 of the big 3. While OU is a good team, they are clearly a tier below the top 3.

Secondly, for LSU, they will get the Peach Bowl, which is in Atlanta. Then, the NC game is in New Orleans.

Geographically, they are in great shape.

Since these Playoff games are like the Super Bowl, where the teams show up like 5 days before the game is played, I don't think travel is as big a factor as it is during the season. And I would suspect LSU would draw large numbers of their fans no matter where they play, since unlike the other three they haven't appeared in a game of this magnitude in a long time, so the fans are probably pretty hungry to have a reason to dig for the money to see them play in a big game.

Your other point about the #1 team playing Oklahoma vs one of Clemson/OSU/LSU is spot on.

Joe Burrow, Justin Fields, Jalen Hurts and Chase Young are your Heisman finalists.

All 4 will be in the CFP. I'd say for the three QBs, their transfers worked out well.

Deified-Dozen-2019-Final.jpg

https://www.baltimor...all-final-poll/

Championship Weekend saw no major surprises, and there is no real controversy as to the most deserving four teams to make the Playoff. The final Deified Dozen rankings and Playoff rankings feature the same Top 4 and in the same order: #1 LSU, #2 Ohio State, #3 Clemson and #4 Oklahoma. Each team won its conference and were the only Power 5 teams to finish with no more than one loss.

The Playoff matchups should be interesting. It is widely believed that the Top 3 teams are pretty close to even, while #4 Oklahoma is a notch below the pack. This would seem to benefit LSU, who will play the Sooners in the Peach Bowl, while Clemson and Ohio State figure to face a much tougher challenge in the Fiesta Bowl. But Oklahoma can score with any team in the country, and their defense is much improved over last year's team that still made it to the Playoff.

Other interesting bowl games of note will be Alabama facing Michigan in the Citrus Bowl and Georgia vs Baylor in the Sugar Bowl. While the sample size is very small, Alabama under Nick Saban has a habit of not showing up for postseason games that don't matter, so it will be interesting to see if they break that trend against Jim Harbaugh and Co....a coach who could really use a big win right now. To many, Baylor proved themselves worthy of a high ranking with their impressive showing against Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. Despite losing their starting QB in the 1st Half, the Bears hung in and their defense performed very well against one of the highest scoring offenses in the country before falling short in overtime. Georgia will provide a great litmus test for Baylor, and just how good the Big 12 was this season in general. And finally, this year's Group of Five entrant to the major bowls, Memphis, will go up against arguably the second-best team in the Big Ten in Penn State in the Cotton Bowl.

Yeah most of us were although I predicted us to lose.

1. UW was much better than a 7-5 record would leave you to think.

2. BSU was not really a 12-1 team. We had a really easy schedule and didn't beat a good team except for perhaps Air Force.

But we had a problem with our QBs. Our starter to begin the year was just and hadn't played in two months. Our third string QB took over and did very well, albeit against weak teams, and earned the #1 spot. Then he got sick and we reverted back to our previous #1 who came out totally rusty. Still no excuse for that abysmal performance.

Things pretty sideline reporters talk about during a 56-21 game.

"Lets say the Baltimore Ravens draft Jalen Hurts...You put Hurts in that backfield as a running back type who can also throw the football. What would that look like? Maybe it would usher in an even more new age offense in the NFL."

[facepalm]
