CHC seems to be struggling with loss of QB. Which is totally understandable. They are clearly the underdog against Spalding. Do they have a chance against McDonogh or do they finish 1-3 in the league?

I think they have a shot. There still very talented. Their big their physical. If they can develop even a little bit of a passing game my opinion is they will be fine

They are pretty physical up front and usually play Spalding tight. D is tough, they should be ok

I say it’s gonna be tough because of game planning and lack of being able to make in game adjustments

Gooch, you would be correct if this was the old Cardinals football staff. Coach Davis some new coaches on his staff. CHC has a chance to win against Spalding and should be favored against McDonogh, Royal Imperial (Canada), Avalon and Loyola. CHC will win 10 or 11 games this season if the SO QB stays healthy. He threw two TD passes against Gilman and has the speed and escapability that the injured SR QB lacked.

Guru the sr qb turned out to be better than most thought he would. No as gifted athletically as the soph but he could run when he needed too

I reluctantly agree. I assumed he would be like the previous CHC flop at QB in 2016. I was too hard on him but he turned out to be a decent field general. Hope he heals quickly and gets a chance at the next level.

Emmett Avery was doing very well as a starter at Franklin before he injured his knee on a late sideline hit at Smyrna (DE) last season. Yes, if given the chance at CHC and if he hadn’t been injured I think the Cardinals would have been a more dynamic offense. That doesn’t diminish the fact that Campbell turned into a decent QB as a SR.

As I said earlier in this thread, CHC could (did) beat Spalding, should beat McDonogh and could win out over two poor teams and Avalon to finish 11-1.

It pains me to say this but your right Guru your boys are pretty good this may be DD best year as a coach since winning the ship. The question has changed to will they lose another game this year . DD is getting it done with not one offered kid at this point he has to be mentioned in the coach of the year conversation if they win out

Yes. Credit to Davis and CHC boys that rebounded from some tough injuries. Nice win. I didn’t think they could do it but they beat Spalding easily. A shame there’s no playoff for top MIAA teams....or is there?
