I'll restate. MJ is untouchable to LBJ. I guess some half human /half alien could top him in the future.
Or 3rd or 4th or 5th. It is black and white. MJ is untouchable.

Three teams, four Finals MVPs. That's just insane. Incredibly so.

So restating to be clear is another way of saying that the black and white comment was wrong lol and now you're just replacing it with pure subjectivity.

Was rooting for Jimmy Butler (who gets a TON of props) but it was cool to see the GOAT get another one.
Also happy for Danny Green so he can stop getting death threats.

In many ways, they've become such a positive model for our society. Truly amazed and appreciative of all involved. It was a sacrifice for them being secluded for that long, but they really did everything right. I'm sad it's over. Was rooting for Jimmy Butler (who gets a TON of props) but it was cool to see the GOAT get another one.

Good, because the black and white comment was ironically wrong in a very black and white way. Everything I said besides career value is completely objective rather than subjective, so black and white. And career value would be very difficult to successfully argue for MJ given his two retirements.
Peak though, I'm cool with MJ.

My subjectivity is 90% of what fans think which pretty much makes its objectivity. Again, unless youre contrarian just to be contrarian.Good, because the black and white comment was ironically wrong in a very black and white way. So if there's a poll in the future where LeBron is the GOAT, I'm sure you'll change your mind, right?

If it gets to be 80-90% like it was when they did the poll at ESPN back in June then I pledge to you a reevaluation on my part.

The one I am familiar with, conveniently done right after The Last Dance, was 73%.
But if this is really your reasoning, there should be more than just a reevaluation, there should be a clear reversal.

Stop debating me and go to bed.I don't necessarily have LeBron ahead of MJ... yet. But he can still get there. He's knocking on the door.

It just depends on how you look at it.
If it's titles, it's Russell.
If it's best peak, then MJ probably has the best case.
If it's best career value, than it's probably LeBron with Kareem next.
Bill Simmons made a point that makes sense, which is that in a lot of ways it makes more sense to have generational GOATs. So Russell, Kareem, MJ, LeBron. Makes a nice Mount Rushmore as well.
The generation argument made sense.
I thought Lowe's points on Wilt were better than Simmons counter.

Simmons lays out a strong case for Russell over Wilt in the Book of Basketball. I was very much opposed to that position before I read that and still a skeptic afterwards, but I've continued to evolve on this and Ben Taylor's profile of Russell in his top 40 GOAT series cemented that change in opinion.
