And Cobb goes back to the DL. At this point maybe they can trade him for a couple sixers.

Cobb can not stay healthy. Hopefully it is not serious.

Offseason sixers.
Buying our own beer would be cheaper. He was unmovable without eating tons of money before this injury, whatever it is.

Roch says Cobb's IL placement is protocol related.

So if Cobb test positive will the O's get shutdown?

He is owed $15M next year, with $4.5M deferred. An additional $5.5M is deferred until the 30s If he doesn’t pitch 130 innings this year, which is prorated to 130*60/162 = 48. Currently at 35.1 innings so he might have trouble making it now. Probably needs 3 more starts. Depends on when he comes back.

My guess is he is done for the year. That would leave him only 5 M for next year. Maybe we should consider passing the hat.

Im guessing he ran a slight fever, hence they had to follow protocol. No different from any of us working these days, we are expected to take our temp at home before reporting for work.
The couple of games that I saw him pitched, he looked pretty good.

Yea, my guess is he came in contact with someone and they quarantined him.

Cobb had the good splitter last night. When that pitch is dropping, he looks like the guy we thought we were signing.

Cobb this year has been everything we should have expected when we signed him.

Other than the stint on the Il when he had a fever, he was healthy.
I don't think he has done enough to get anything of value for him in a trade, so my guess either Means or Cobb starts on OD next year. Let's hope it is late March.

He got to 52.1 innings, so I believe that extra $5.5M is not deferred. That may have made him a little more marketable to trade, but good for him for making it. And good for the team for not messing with him so he wouldn't make it.
