Assonance in this case, I think.

I haven't read any of your posts, like, ever.
I just think the vast majority of what you and others complain about DD traces back to Angelos and is cognitive dissonance.
There is no doubt in my mind that the majority of blame for the ills of the Oriole organization resides on Angelos and his son's. I am not a fan of DD, because I think he inherited an excellent core of players and has shown very little creativity in augmenting it with the piece or two that may have brought a title.

I think for the most part, only better pitching would've gotten us one. We haven't had the farm to get one, or the money to land a big FA P (plus it's risky as hell). They banked on Bundy/Gausman/Harvey and while still too early on all three, none have turned out to be precisely what we were hoping for.

Agreed, my problem is the short sightedness of the organization, mainly Angelos, in regards to starting pitching.
My problem with DD is spending money on poor starting pitching....guys like UJ, Miley, Gallardo etc. Wasting 30 million on poor talent hurts a franchise especially one who is clearly reluctant to spend on pitching.

Screw it. It'll be hard for him to be worse than Wright, Wilson or Ubaldo.

4.1 shutout in his lone AAA start on Monday night. 4 H 0 BB 6 K on 74 pitches.
Doubt it carries over but I guess it's better than had he gotten rocked. Plus he's a righty unlike Aquino, Bleier, Ynoa, or Lee so better suited against the Jays.

Every year people say this, as if there is some floor to being terrible in the majors. I want to see this guy, but "it can't be worse" is not true.

For the record, Ynoa is a righty.

Sure he can be.

Kind of a diminishing returns thing, though. Your record probably won't be any worse in a collection of starts made by Matusz with a 10.50 ERA than it would if started by Trachsel with a 8.50 ERA.

4/15 at Toronto: 6.1ip, 3 hits, 1 er, 1 bb, 5 k's
I got my MLB TV back on today so I got to watch a lot of the game.
He did good,...but I think it's going to over-expose him if he's anything more than a spot starter.
Hard to survive in MLB with a 89-90 FB (anyone...not unique to him)
....but great first effort and kept the Orioles squarely in the game.
