Love the Woodhead signing.

I don't know much about Jefferson besides what people here and elsewhere ahve written about him, but sounds like he was the top safety and nice to sign young players.  Imagine it means Webb is cut, but maybe they can bring him back on a reduced deal as a backup.

Also interesting that they may still be in the running for Williams.

Want to see numbers for all of these guys, too.

At the right price Claiborne would be a strong addition. Had a really solid year in 2016.

Still sounds like Ravens are going hard after brandon williams. I'm very interested to see what contract he gets.

Ugh. I just think this is a mistake given the contract.

I'd be very interested in Claiborne.  Just need ot make sure its a deal we can get out of after a year or two without much pain if he turns back into a pumpkin.

Connor Barwin released by Philly. Should we have interest?

I'm a little leery of giving guys over 30 big deals.  If he can be had reasonably, he'd be interesting.   He's had a big drop off over the last few years in sack production.

Yea, age is my issue too.

I like the idea of getting younger and more athletic on defense.

Maybe the price he expected to get isn't out there. Could end up being a team friendly deal like the Eugene Monroe deal. We thought he played his way out, ended up getting less money than we thought and stayed. Would have been a good deal if he didn't miss so much time and retire early.

The difference being there was no competent replacement for Monroe. Michael Pierce looks like he could slide right into Williams spot and be okay.

Vinny on the Fan today is high on keeping Williams because "your defense has to be strong up the middle" (DT, MLB, S). Cool. Except the Ravens needs are on the outside now that Jefferson signed. Edge rushers and CBs.

If you can lose Williams and still be strong at DT with Pierce and Willie Henry, then use the savings to focus on the outside and be strong all over instead of just one sector.

Pierce played well to begin with but petered out and Henry didn't play at all.  I am not sure you can go into the season relying on them to fill such a large role.

Plus you have Carl Davis.

I get that you have guys that you just don't know a lot about some of these guys but you drafted them and have proven that you can develop well.

BWill is good...but is he THaT good?

I think he's that good. Won't have any problem with them giving him a big deal for $8-9M AAV if they can fit it in capwise.

Not gonna argue much with anyone who doesn't want to go that high, but I think it's a reasonable decision.

Anything more than 5-6M/year for Williams is a bad contract. If he had any ability as a pass rusher, it would be a different story.
