I still think he is suspended for a year regardless of the settlements.
I keep seeing the NFLPA will appeal to reduce it. Why would they want to bring the scorn of women upon them.

CBS Sports: Deshaun Watson discipline decision: NFL hearing for Browns QB set to begin Tuesday

According to the NFL network, Deshaun Watson has been suspended for 6 games.
The Browns just got a huge break. That's not even 1/2 of a season.

Its pretty much an insult to the women who brought the claims. Goodell will wait a few days to see if some women's groups complain or a public outcry. The judge basically followed the 6 game outline for 1st offenders.
I did see a PFT comment on in her ruling, the judge said he can only get massages from Browns staff.. Which is weird because that admits he has a problem.

I believe if Watson had not settled all of the civil suits he would have faced a longer suspension. I think he's better off taking the six games than appealing the suspension at this point in time.
He's not appealing. The NFL can still decide to.

CBS Sports: Deshaun Watson's suspension drama might not be over: QB's ban could get lengthened if NFL decides to appeal

Unless there is a major outcry over this, I don't think the NFL will appeal. The NFLPA announced prior to this ruling that they would not appeal Watson's sentence and asked the NFL to do the same. They hinted that if the NFL appealed the sentence they might sue the NFL over unfair discipline practices given the light punishments that Daniel Snyder has received.
I think the NFL would prefer to not have all of that dirty laundry dredged up in court if they can help it. They can basically say it was not their decision on the punishment but they will abide with the ruling.

It will be interesting to see aftermath of this ruling. I don't think the backlash will be as strong because Watson settled the cases. However, I think there's a good chance the NFL appeals the decision. Goodell enjoys being judge, jury, & executioner too much. My preduction is that this will wind up being an eight game suspension. (Close to half of a year.)Unless there is a major outcry over this, I don't think the NFL will appeal. What a freaking joke. 6 games?
The NFL...
1. Has no balls
2. Feels the need to take care of the Browns.

This may fall under 1., but they probably don't particularly want to get into a huge battle with the players association, since the NFLPA seems like they are itching for it. I mean over Goodell deciding the punishment like he always did before, even though the NFLPA agreed to it in bargaining. I feel like they never liked that and still want to fight over it, even though they agreed to it in the CBA again. If Goodell was looking to change it to like 8 then he's probably like what's the difference just do 6.
If the NFL wanted to change it to like a year that's a different story.

He comes back against Baltimore, right?
Of course. Never a doubt.
