What have you done for me lately.

Guy was in the national title game two years ago

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

They let him twist in the wind for two days. Pretty much had to happen, but they could have handled it sooner.

And yes, everyone here is ready to personally purchase Chip Kelly's one-way ticket from SFO to Eugene.

Thought he made progress there and he was recently given a new contract.

I wonder what else is going on there.

Heard something about mistreating players? But no idea if that has any weight to it.

EDIT: Beat to the punch...

Based on the way the buy out was structured, I wonder if the there were concerns about him, before the new contract.

Baylor announces hiring of Temple’s Matt Rhule

Because when you want to make a hire to replace a coach fired for covering up criminal activity within the program, you go for the guy who played under Joe Paterno...

Sounds like the Edsall to UConn deal is basically done. They're expecting to make the announcement later today.

Good luck to him.  Will be interesting to see if he can get UConn moving again. The AAC isn't a powerhouse obviously, but it is a conference with decent teams in both divisions. Huskies were 1-7 in league play this year.

It's official.

I'd say the AAC right now might be tougher, certainly deeper, than the Big East was when Edsall left.

I'm not sure how I missed this, but Minnesota fired Tracy Claeys Monday night. Apparently it was his support for the boycotting players that did him in, in particular a tweet he made. Definitely a tightrope in that situation, but I can see why Minnesota made the decision it did. The players themselves even reversed their stance on boycotting the Holiday Bowl once they had a chance to read the complaint filed by the woman who was allegedly assaulted. As one would expect, the players are not at all pleased by Claeys' firing.

That said, Minnesota seems like a nice landing spot for Les Miles, if he's ready to get back in the game.

Sounds like P.J. Fleck is their guy, close to a deal. Row the Gopher!

Update: 5-year deal for Fleck at Minnesota.

Looks like they'll hire Wisconsin DC Justin Wilcox.
