There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Was hoping to see two former Terps square off tonight on TNT. Diamond Stone was a DNPCD for the Clippers, but Jake Layman scored 6 points on 3/4 in 5 minutes for the Blazers.

D league for Stone is likely.

Would be the best thing for him. He needs to play. It's good that he apparently has a better shot than advertised at MD... but overall he's a post player in a league that continues to devalue such players. Beyond that, he only has 'good' athleticism... and he's pretty raw in some facets.
I hope he's capable of going to the D-League and mentally staying with it. Knowing that going there, putting in that time, and learning is the best for him.
Some guys not able to handle the bus rides, etc of MiL life. Will be a learning experience for him.
Until then, he gets a few weeks in camp to bang around with two of the best bigs in the game. Certainly an opportunity to learn.

I think you'll see a ton of that from Stone this year. I just don't see it. Hope I'm wrong.
The Clippers are a very deep team, so probably. I doubt he'll be active very often. Same goes for Layman.

I don't know if you read the whole article from The Ringer you posted above, but it actually mentions Stone at one point. The gist of the piece is that this has been a long time coming (it quoted Morgan Wooten back in 1988 saying how fewer big guys were playing with their back to the basket). But it also says, and I'd agree, that guys who can score in the post will always have a place in the league. But in the current small-ball era they will be relegated to coming off the bench to take advantage of favorable matchups....and that these guys will have to get used to not getting starter minutes and find a way to be effective when only playing 10-15 a night.

There should definitely be a place for those skills. And when everyone zigs one way, you should be able to take advantage of you zag the other.

If you ever take a 66.5 over you are an idiot.
Agreed. That's a lot of W's.
I like the Bucks over.
