Ambrose has done a nice job at Towson.  Nice place to go watch a game too.  Hopefully there will be that chance this year.

That sucks. But Towson also had three games cancelled already because of other conferences mandates.

It really sucks for the kids, but schools like Towson pay the bills, by scheduling the big conference schools.  Given the fact that revenue was not going to be there this year, and the seriosu health issues they would be facing, it makes perfect sense to cancel.

CAA schools are still allowed to play as an FCS independent this year. So far, JMU and Elon are putting together a schedule and playing, if the FCS doesn't cancel the playoffs. I'm not sure about any other schools.

But with more and more conferences canceling all fall sports, college football is a pipe dream this year.

Thanks to the canceled UM game, they probably don't have enough money to play fall sports now.

I think that was a big part of it.

It really is no one's fault, but it still stinks for the players.

Balt Sun: Former Towson football coach Phil Albert, program’s all-time leader in wins, dies

Had a couple of classes with him... he had the energy of a Dick Vitale.
Very upbeat, personable.  Was a Pro Scout during that time.
Just a very nice man. Condolences to his family and friends.

Hopefully fans will be allowed.  I live very close and it is a fun way to spend a Saturday.

San Diego State must be cutting Towson a big check to make it worthwhile for them to go all the way across the country.

It probably helps recruiting some too.  Granted they are not there long, but San Diego is great

Hopefully they give the kids a chance to go and hang out on the beach a couple hours, or something nice like that. Being familiar with SD, I can say the area around Qualcomm Stadium (or whatever its name might be now) is nothing special.

Never been to Qualcomm, but San Diego is pretty neat.

after this lost year any fun is deserved.

I did some research, and it turns out they’ll be nowhere near San Diego. The stadium formerly known as Qualcomm is in the midst of being demolished right now. SDSU is getting a new stadium built right next to it (which looks pretty nice) but it’s still a year away from being finished. The Aztecs are temporarily playing in the LA Galaxy’s stadium (where the Chargers played two seasons after they ditched SD). But there’s plenty of nice things to do in LA too. Maybe Disneyland will be reopened by then.
