Rob Ambrose fired after 13 years as head coach.
I interned with the football team for a year. Sad to hear that. The results on the field haven’t been there. But he always found it important that his guys got good grades. Required grades higher than the NCAA says to be eligible to play for him. They had a transfer DT from Michigan who would probably dominate in the trenches in FCS, but the grades weren’t there, so he didn’t play til he got them up despite the talent. He stuck to it. Also found it important that he and his players give back to the community. Early days of COVID lockdown he would grocery shop for the elderly in the neighborhood who couldn’t.
He played with Locksley at Towson. Wonder if they keep in touch or if he’ll land on his staff next year.

Rob did a lot of good for the TU football program, he kept them relevant in the CAA and FCS, his offense could score points. Rob would be a nice fit to team up with Locksley. I am excited to see what Pete Schinnik can do, he has won big time at every stop in his career so far with a W/L record of 159-67.
